Long over due...

Considering the last time I posted a blog was waaayyyy back in May when Evan graduated from Kindergarten - I think its high time for an update!

RUNNING for a CURE - Team in Training

That's right, I'm training to run a half-marathon with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS)! Can I get a whoop! whoop! ?? I'm super excited to be on this journey of endurance! I'm honored to be running in loving memory of Cy's mother - Laura Cowles. She battled cancer over 14 years ago...I only wish I would've met her. She raised a fine son, and I'm proud to be running on her behalf, plus some of our own Columbia Heroes!

One might wonder what this entails. Well, I'll tell you - LOTS OF TRAINING!! Because I've never physically did any long run races, I opted to be apart of the run/walk TNT Team. So, I do some walking, but then I also run too! It's very invigorating and I love this challenge. Never done it before - but I'm up for it! Also, besides the training - comes the fundraising too! My goal is to raise $2000 to help LLS find a cure for cancer. Every little bit counts - and it makes a big difference too! If you would like to know more about my progress, LLS has hooked me up with my very own website.

Check it out:

Feel free to post comments, encouraging words, maybe a donation or two? Two bucks, Five bucks -- any kind of bucks will do to help raise my fundraising goal!!

100% tax deductible too!

On another note - Evan is enjoying his summer, while Jacob is just all up in every body's business. We had a blast at Disney World a few weeks back. What a wonderful week vacation in Florida. So glad we had the opportunity to hang out with our friends and just enjoy some family time. I'll share some Disney pics on my next post. For now - you can see the video of Evan and Jacob "shopping" in Bilo. They have these neat pull carts for customers who don't want to buy a lot of stuff. The boys just had a blast!

More to blog -- but check out my half-marathon progress on my other blog HERE.
